Caring for your PARAFINA

Find out how to properly care for your sunglasses, reading glasses, and screens to keep them in perfect condition for as long as possible.

You start the day and you put them on, and when you go to bed you let them rest. You rub your eyes and take them off, and then put them back on. You go out and you can barely see anything without them. They even fog up incessantly. Yes, we're talking about reading glasses or screens, but it's also happened to you with sunglasses, and we can all agree that more than once you've stretched out your shirt to clean the lenses.

You may think that this is enough to see again without that dirt that makes you believe that a thick layer of fog has appeared, but that is not the case. In addition to cleaning your glasses, you have to take care of them, and not in any way. That is why at Parafina we give you some tips to clean and take care of your glasses, because since they show you the world in a crystal-clear way, you owe them at least that, right?

1. We know it's tempting to clean your glasses with the edge of your shirt, but don't! Keep in mind that throughout the day, your clothes collect dust particles and if they come into contact with your lenses, they will get scratched.

2. Use specific cleaning products such as spray, or alternatively water and neutral soap. In addition to leaving them completely clean, you will see that they fog up less. You can use your fingers for this process.

3. To dry and clean the surface of the lens, use chamois or microfiber cloths.

4. During a pandemic like the one we are experiencing, try not to clean them with the breath from your mouth, as this can be a source of infection. We recommend disinfecting only the frame with 70% alcohol and the lenses as we mentioned above.

5. Try not to use your glasses as a headband. We know it's very comfortable, but you expose them to future deformation of the frame, and even the possibility of scratching the lenses.

As you know, the lens is the most delicate part of the glasses and therefore we have to pay special attention when cleaning it. Bear in mind that in summer it suffers greater deterioration due to UVA rays, especially in the case of sunglasses, since in addition to being exposed for longer periods of time, they must be stored correctly in their cases.
